Valentine’s Day is near! Make this year one your kids will never forget with these fun family games.
1. Conversation Hearts Straw Transfer
Materials:
- Conversation hearts
- 2 paper plates
- straw
- timer
How to Play:
1. Suck on the straw to pick up a heart and transfer it to the other plate.
2. Players have one minute to see how many hearts they can transfer.
3. Player who transfers the most hearts with the straw wins.
2. Red Mummy
Materials:
- Red crepe paper
How to Play:
1. One player (the mummy) stands still.
2. The other player has one minute to use the crepe paper to wrap that person like a mummy.
This is fun if mom and dad are the mummies and kids race to wrap them up!
3. Cupid’s Arrow
Materials: Straws, Q-tips, large bowl, blanket.
How to Play: Give each player a straw and a handful of Q-tips. Place the bowl at the end of a large blanket and have players line up at the other end. The goal is to shoot as many Q-tips into the bowl as possible.

4. Bottle Drop
Materials:
- Conversation hearts
- bottle or vase
How to Play:
1. Each player stands over the bottle and drops the conversation hearts from nose-level into the bottle.
2. The player has one minute to get in as many hearts as possible.

5. Heart Stack
Materials:
- 2 boxes per player of conversation hearts
How to Play:
1. It’s simple! Just stack the hearts as high as you can in 20-30 seconds!
2. Player with the highest stack wins.

6. Heart Target Practice
Materials:
- Large construction paper hearts
- Nerf guns (or water guns).
How to Play:
1. Tape hearts to the wall.
2. Set a line behind which to stand.
3. Aim, fire! Target Practice!
7. Pin the Lips on Mrs. Valentine
Materials:
- Printable lips here
- poster board
- cardstock
- marker
- scissors
- tape
- blindfold.
How to Play:
1. Draw Mrs. Valentine on the poster board.
2. Print the lips on cardstock and cut them out.
3. Put tape on the back of the lips.
4. Blindfold the player, spin them, and see where they pin the lips!

8. Catch My Heart
Note: This game works best with a group of kids.
Materials:
- Bean bag
- A stuffed heart
- OR, a soft ball will work, too.
How to Play:
1. Have the kids stand in a circle facing each other.
2. Hand one player the bean bag or ball.
3. That player says one of the other kids’ names and gently tosses the bag to that player.
4. The player whose name was called catches it and calls the name of another player, tossing it to that person.
5. The game continues until everyone has had a turn tossing.

9. Conversation Heart Shuffle
Materials:
- Conversation hearts
- 2 paper plates
- 2 pencils
How to Play:
1. Using the pencils like chopsticks, transfer as many hearts from one plate to the other.
2. Give one minute to win!
10. Hang in There, Valentine!
Materials:
- 4 Valentine’s Day greeting cards
How to Play:
1. Set the 4 greeting cards on the table, setting them up like tents.
2. Blow the cards across the table until you get one of them to hang off the edge without falling off.
3. Each player has 60 seconds to complete the challenge.
11. Broken Hearts
Materials:
- Ten construction paper hearts (already cut by an adult)
Note: Cut the hearts, mix up the pieces, and spread the broken hearts on the table.
How to Play:
1. The challenge is to mend all the broken hearts
2. Players find the matching sides
3. Put the hearts all back together in 60 seconds.
12. Cupid Says
Materials: None
How to Play:
1. This game is just like Simon Says!
2. Call out Valentine phrases of love to do!
3. Say “Cupid says blow a kiss” or “Cupid says give yourself a great big hug!”
